Privacy Policy

The Association for Civil Rights in Israel (hereinafter: "ACRI") respects your privacy. The Privacy Policy detailed here specifies the information we collect about you, why the information is collected, how we will use it, where it is stored and under what circumstances we will transfer it and to who.

 

You may contact us with any question or request regarding your information, including a request to correct or delete the information, as detailed below.

Providing information on the site

Browsing the site does not require registering or providing details and personal information. However, different areas and sections of the site allow you to contact us for various purposes detailed below, and each such inquiry may involve registration and provision of details and personal information, such as name, address, telephone, active email address, details of means of payment, organizational affiliation and other details depending on the nature and purpose of the inquiry:

  • support and contribution to ACRI;

  • registration for membership at ACRI;

  • registration for various events held by ACRI;

  • registration to the ACRI mailing lists;

  • joining ACRI's campaigns;

  • contacting ACRI through online contact forms found on the website.

Apart from membership in ACRI (see below), you are not required by law to provide your personal information and information. Providing them depends on your consent and free will – however, providing incorrect details, or not providing all the required details may prevent us from being able to contact you or handle your inquiries.

Have you reported an infringement of your privacy? We may collect additional information when you contact and correspond with ACRI for the purpose of clarifying the report.

 

ACRI Membership

In accordance with the provisions of the Associations Law, ACRI must maintain a register of the members of ACRI, which will include the member's name, address, identity number and the date of commencement of membership at ACRI.

In the registration form for commencement or renewal of membership at ACRI, you will also be asked to provide an email address and a telephone number, so that we can be in contact with you, update you about our activities, request support, announce a general meeting or elections to ACRI's board, and other matters relating to your membership. In addition, in order to pay membership fee, you will be asked to provide credit card details, but we will not keep them with us unless and as long as you request, that your membership at ACRI be renewed annually automatically by collecting the annual membership fee through your credit card.

We thank you for your donation to ACRI. Your donation will be used, among other things, to promote the right to privacy, and to realize ACRI's mission.

By making a donation, you agree to the following terms:

  • ACRI may use the donation funds to advance its cause and at its discretion.

  • You declare that you are competent to perform binding legal actions. However, if you are under the age of 18 or incompetent or unfit to perform legal actions for any reason without the approval of a guardian, your contribution will be deemed to have received the approval of the guardian.

  • Making a donation requires providing personal information, including first name, last name, e-mail and telephone number, and credit card information. We won't store your credit card information unless and as long as you choose the option of a monthly or annual recurring donation.

  • ACRI also accepts one-time donations via bank transfer, without the need to register or provide personal information on the website.

  • In accordance with the provisions of the provisions of Israeli law, a donation in excess of NIS 20,000 (as of the date of writing the policy) will be reported to the authorized authorities with your details. If you do not agree, please contact us prior to transferring the donation. ACRI will report the donations to the authorized authorities, in accordance with the provisions of the law as they will be in force from time to time. Donations to ACRI are tax deductible in Israel in accordance with Section 46 of the Income Tax Ordinance.

  • ACRI reserves the right to reject receipt of donations or to cancel the continuation of existing donations from any party, at its discretion.

Our Use of Information

We will use the information you provide us for the following purposes:

  • To be in contact with you regarding ACRI's activities or for the purpose for which you entered your information;

  • To comply with the requirements of any law.

  • To send you occasional updates, offers and invitations to attend our events or activities, and requests for donation and support. These inquiries will be sent by e-mail, and at times also by text message, in accordance with the consent you have given, which you can cancel at any time.

 

Transfer of information to others

ACRI will not transfer your personal information to a third party, except in the following cases:

  • Cases in which you explicitly authorized us to do so.

  • In order to operate the site and manage ACRI's activities, we use clearing and mailing systems of external companies, through which they may have access to your information (details below).

  • If ACRI will be required by law to provide your details or information about you to a third party, or if it receives a judicial order instructing it to provide your details or information about you as said.

  • In the event that you violate or attempt to violate the Terms of Use of the Site or any of the services offered there in, or in a situation where you act in violation of the law on the Site or in connection with its activities.

  • In any legal dispute, suit or legal proceeding between you and ACRI, to the extent necessary under the circumstances.

  • In any case that ACRI believes that the provision of the information is necessary in order to prevent causing significant damage to you or to a third party.

Where is the information stored?

The information we collect is stored with server hosting and data backup providers, which may also be located outside the borders of the State of Israel. Your consent to this policy also constitutes explicit and specific consent to the retention of the information abroad and its transfer outside the borders of Israel.

 

Your right to review the information

According to the Protection of Privacy Law, every person is entitled to review information about himself or herself.

Therefore, you can contact us with a request to review your information stored with us, to request that the information be corrected or deleted, subject to the provisions of any law.

 

Information collected on the Site and the collection of information for statistical purposes

As a result of your use of the Site, information may accumulate about how you use it, through Pixel or other technologies. This is anonymous or statistical information that does not identify you personally and is not stored together with your personal details. Such information can include, for example, the pages you viewed, the Internet address (IP address) from which you accessed the website, the operating system (USER AGENT) you used, etc. The use of this data will be made only in accordance with this privacy policy or in accordance with the provisions of any law – for the following purposes:

  • To allow optimal use of the site.

  • To improve and enrich the services and content offered on the site, including the creation of new services and content that match the requirements of the users of the site and their expectations, and to change or cancel existing services and content.

In addition, we are assisted by companies that provide statistical analyses about the use of the sites. The companies collect and analyze information that is essentially statistical and intended for analysis, research and control purposes. This information includes data such as the number of visits to the site, the sections that interested the users, the countries from which they came, the search engines that were used to locate the site or materials contained therein, the internet browsers through which they browsed the site, the type of device they used and more. The information collected is purely statistical. It does not identify you personally and is intended for analysis, research and control of website activity.

"Cookies"

The site uses "cookies" for the ongoing and proper operation of the site, including for the purpose of collecting statistical data about the use of the site, for the purpose of verifying details and for information security purposes.

"Cookies" are text files that your browser creates under the instruction of the computer of the web site you visited. Some "cookies" will expire when you close your browser, and others are stored on your computer's hard drive. The "cookies" contain information such as the pages you have visited, the length of time you have been on the site, from where you came to  the  site, sections and information you wish to see when entering the site and more. The "cookies" also obviate the need to enter your details each time you fill out forms on the site.

The information in the "cookies" is encrypted, and the website takes precautions so that ACRI's computers alone will recognize this information.

You can prevent the creation of "cookies" by changing the settings in your browser. To do this, consult your browser's help file. In addition, you can delete the "cookies" on your computer at any time.

The information collected does not identify you, and is intended to track browsing patterns on the site and the preferences of the site users in relation to various content and services. To the best of our knowledge, you can remove the web equations by deleting the history in the browser (similar to deleting "cookies").

Information Security

ACRI ensures that its systems and its website are managed under an adequate level of information security. It is important to note that information security reduces the risks of unauthorized intrusion into ACRI's computers and websites, but it cannot grant absolute immunity under any conditions against such intrusion. Therefore, we do not guarantee that the site will be completely immune from unauthorized access to the information on it.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may change the provisions of this Privacy Policy from time to time without prior notice; But at all times, the site's updated privacy policy will be posted openly.
